Position Summary: Under general direction, responsible for the daily leadership and management of the Private Banking Team. Develops profitable client relationships focusing on a clientele comprised of physicians, professional groups, attorneys, business executives, small business owners, other professionals, high net worth individuals and centers of influence.
Ensures accomplishment of personal and team goals in deposit and loan growth, profitability, credit quality, risk management and client retention.
Actively seeks and evaluates needs of potential clients and provides specialized financial solutions, to include deposit/cash management, lending, investments, and trust.
Provides ongoing superior relationship servicing of existing client base, including the resolution of service issues.
Develops and manages a personal loan portfolio; performs all aspects of portfolio management, including, but not limited to collecting and maintaining current financial information; follows existing loans to ensure conformity with terms and to detect the development of unfavorable trends.
Works closely with Retail Region Manager and Branch Managers within the region to identify key prospects and existing clients for further relationship development; makes appropriate referrals as warranted.
Maintains close relationship and makes appropriate referrals to business line partners, including, but not limited to Old Point Trust, Old Point Mortgage, Old Point Investments, cash management and electronic banking.
Represents the bank and provides leadership in key community activities including business, charitable, civic and social organizations.
Adheres to SAFE Act requirements when acting as a (MLO) mortgage loan originator.
Performs all work in compliance with applicable regulations/policy and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in banking, finance or business or equivalent combination of work, training and educational experience.
Extensive working knowledge of consumer, mortgage, and commercial lending.
Ability to analyze sophisticated financial situations and underwrite complicated and specialized lending arrangements.
Proven leadership management and motivation skills and ability.
Proven sales and business development skills and experience.
Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to learn job specific software applications.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Maintain registration with the federal registry system (NMLS) and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE ACT requirements which includes maintaining the unique identifier number if action as a (MLO).
