About Iowa State Bank
In 1941, local business leader George O’Dea saw a need for a community bank to serve the residents of Des Moines. With five employees and one office, Iowa State Bank opened its doors and has been serving the community ever since. We remain locally owned and committed to giving our customers the best banking experience.
Iowa State Bank has grown and prospered due to the bank’s commitment to customer service. For over 20 years, the bank has achieved “Outstanding” ratings from the FDIC for Community Reinvestment. This is the FDIC’s highest possible rating.
O’Dea’s vision continues today under the leadership of the Burgeson Family, who for over 30 years has been committed to remaining a locally owned bank and serving the community.
Currently Iowa State Bank has five metro banking locations with their Investment and Trust Departments providing strong wealth management services.
Iowa State Bank has been ranked as a top performing bank for many years. The former bank slogan, “Safe and Sound” is as true today as ever.
