The Compliance Associate provides compliance support to the Credit Regulation Department by monitoring mortgage compliance regulations. Conducts compliance and HMDA audits and recommends procedural changes and/or training.
Perform compliance reviews and compile data for audit reports and correspondence to production team
Perform monthly audits to ensure accurate data is uploaded to HMDA LAR
Maintain an advanced awareness of regulatory updates and changes, with a focus on Tila/Respa and HMDA
Research regulatory requirements associated with mortgage lending and servicing
Serve as an internal resource for compliance questions
Assist with the analysis, interpretation, and development of compliance policies and procedures
Assist with due diligence reviews of new bank relationships and retention records
Set-up new staff and monitor the education tracking software for required annual corporate AML, Fair Lending, and Fraud training
Required Education: High School Diploma (or GED/HSED)
Required Work Experience: 2-3 years recent Mortgage Lending, Processing/Closing &/or Mortgage Compliance related experience.
Technology Skills: Strong computer skills and knowledge of Office products
Required Skills or traits for the position: Knowledge of regulations surrounding mortgage lending, detail oriented, good reading comprehension, strong verbal/written communication skills
