Is accountable for originating primarily agriculture, commercial, commercial leases and consumer loans. Be able to manage an existing loan portfolio and renewals. The Loan Officer will work closely with other key leaders in the bank to implement overall bank objectives that will enhance the value of our franchise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create and maintain an exceptional sales and service culture which includes participating in the bank’s formal calling program and measuring customer service standards.
Assess the creditworthiness of loan applicants, judging their suitability as borrowers as well as the precise terms (interest rate, repayment schedule, etc.) on which credit may be granted to them.
Provide oversight and insure that all loan documents are properly prepared, loan files are kept current and relative, and appropriate information is forwarded to management.
Provide problem solving leadership in complex situations for complex problems.
Prepares periodic, informational reports for management.
Complies with regulatory rules and regulations, evidenced through successful completion of training and demonstrated ability. Topics include but are not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti Money Laundering, Ethics, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), etc.
Reflects a positive image for the Bank by exuding professional demeanor at all times and contributing to community involvement
Keep abreast of current industry trends, regulatory issues and the overall economic environment. Integrate knowledge into strategic and operational business planning.
Member of loan committee for the bank.
Perform other duties as awarded by management based on performance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) in Finance or business-related field is preferred; or a minimum of five years of experience developing and servicing a quality agricultural/commercial loan portfolio.
Computer and data processing literacy preferred, including adept experience with Microsoft Office programs, ARTA software, and Web Equity software. Mathematical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required. Must be highly motivated with good communication skills, autonomous, and capable executing tactical plans in line with strategic objectives.
Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and implement regulations and laws, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, policy and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply mathematical operations including but not limited to variance analysis, factor analysis, correlation techniques, sampling theory and sensitivity analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and/or problems and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license required for travel to Bank offices, training sessions, customer meetings, Bank and community meetings, etc. Ability to speak a foreign language helpful but not required.
