The Virginia Bankers Association is looking for a Communications and Event Specialist who will provide administrative as well as substantive support for the Education & Training/Communications department related to internal and external communications and event planning and logistics.
The Communications and Event Specialist will be responsible for serving as the webmaster for the VBA website, www.vabankers.org, and managing eNewsletter creation and distribution. The Communications and Event Specialist will also be responsible for creating and updating VBA marketing and event flyers, managing event marketing, writing and making edits to department documents, coordinating events taking place in the VBA Training Center, assisting with meeting preparation, planning and materials, managing VBA promotional materials and gift orders, and general administrative duties. The Communications and Event Specialist will also manage events, communications and materials for the VBA Emerging Bank Leaders program, a group for young professionals in the banking
Qualifications include excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, highly professional manner, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Design Suite. Must have the ability to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities on tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Strong customer service orientation and desire to provide a positive customer experience at every opportunity is required. Must have a desire to be part of a team. Position also requires statewide travel.
